Our story
A free community platform for Bangkok
Eleven million people, thousands of things happening tonight, and no single place to find any of it. That is the gap BangkokConnect fills.
BangkokConnect started as a shared spreadsheet between a handful of residents who kept answering the same questions: where do I meet people, which neighbourhood suits me, where can I work today, what is on this weekend.
It is now a public platform covering events, communities, people, coworking and cafés, a local business directory, jobs, neighbourhood pages and long-form guides — all in one place, all readable without an account.
It is free, and it stays free. BangkokConnect is a community, not a marketplace.
What we hold to
Free, always
No plans, no paywalls, no pay-to-rank listings. A city directory only works if everyone can be in it.
Real things, kept current
Every event, space and business is a real place with a real page. Guides carry a last-reviewed date so you know what is still true.
Neighbourhood-first
Bangkok is not one city. Everything is tied to a neighbourhood, with transit and walking times, because that is how people actually decide.
People over algorithms
Members write the guides, host the events and run the communities. Moderation is human and the rules are published.
How it works
Find something
Browse events, communities, spaces, jobs and guides — or ask the concierge a question in plain English.
Show up
Save what interests you, register for an event, or join a community. Everything links to a real page with real details.
Add to it
Host an event, start a community, list your space or write a guide for the neighbourhood you know best.
Common questions
- Is BangkokConnect free?
- Yes. BangkokConnect is free for everyone — members, event organisers, community hosts and businesses. There are no plans, tiers or listing fees.
- Who is BangkokConnect for?
- Anyone living in, moving to, or spending time in Bangkok: long-term residents, Thai locals, remote workers, students, and the businesses and spaces that serve them.
- Do I need an account?
- No. Events, communities, guides, spaces, the directory and neighbourhood pages are all readable without signing in. An account only adds saving, joining, messaging and posting.
- How do listings get added?
- Members create them. Events, communities, spaces, businesses, jobs and guides are submitted by people in the city and reviewed by moderators before they go live.
